Adapted Car
We have had one of our cars adapted to enable us to train pupils with physical disabilities. Go believe that everybody has the right to learn to drive which is why we have in the following adaptations;
Push/Pull brake and accelerator (including indicator switch)
Flip up left foot accelerator pedal
Pedal Guard Handbrake easy release9 way infra red secondary control system
It is possible to drive our adapted car using just the upper limbs, or one upper and one lower limb. What ever your needs we will do our best to help get you on the road.
Who will train you?
Nita has in car experienceas well as formal training at Queen Elizabeth Mobility Centre making her one of a hand full of professional trainers in the area that specialize in pupils with physically disabilities as well as pupils with leaning difficulties
To date all of our students using the adaptations have passed 1st time, they include ...
Dominic hugman, with his instructor Nita - Doninic was the first person GO presented for practical driving test using the adaptations. He did us proud, he sailed through the test passing 1st time.
