Practical Test

September 2003 saw the introduction of the new part of the practical driving test ‘show me, tell me’.

During ‘show me, tell me’, the examiner will ask a number of questions relating to general car maintenance for example, how would you check the engine oil level? Or how can you check that your brake lights are working?

You need not worry if you have no mechanical knowledge. We have a full list of questions you could be asked so that we can cover possible answers until you feel confident with them.

The driving test is a threshold test. You can make 15 driving errors as long as they are not potentially or actually dangerous.

You will fail your driving test if:

• You commit one serious driving error during your test.

• You commit sixteen driving errors.

Each individual pupil is initially assessed and the subsequent course is tailored accordingly to ensure a successful outcome. Your Driving Licence!
